Sabrina Carpenter is a Force to Be reckoned With

Sabrina Carpenter first rose to fame as an actor on Girl Meets World and since then she has made quite the mark as an actress and model. From bashing ex-partners on ‘Espresso’ to opening up for Taylor Swift on some legs of her Eras tour – Sabrina has had no shortage of opportunities since beginning her acting career! Pennsylvania is certainly keeping busy right now as Sabrina makes waves both personally and professionally!

Girl Meets World

Sabrina Carpenter voices Maya Hart on Girl Meets World. Though its cast includes Rowan Blanchard and August Maturo – two familiar faces from Boy Meets World – its stark differences are hard to overlook; much more geared toward preteens and teens (while slightly too childish for adults).

This series follows an 11-year-old schoolgirl through her adolescent coming-of-age story as she navigates friendships, romantic interests and academic challenges under the tutelage of teachers Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel). Lucas (Peyton Meyer), Riley’s love interest who also has feelings for Maya but may prefer Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis). Together these characters add charm for viewers aged 10-13.

The Hate U Give

The Hate U Give is an eye-opening, captivating film that proves there’s more to YA fiction than just magic and romance. Led by Amandla Stenberg’s standout performance, this emotionally charged flick will resonate with audiences around the globe.

Based on Angie Thomas’ 2017 best-selling YA novel, The Hate U Give follows Starr Carter (Amandla Stenberg). She lives in Garden Heights while attending Williamson Prep on the other side of town; both worlds can present difficult circumstances for Starr as she attempts to understand entrenched prejudice while managing personal struggles at once.

After opening for Taylor Swift at her Eraser Tour, Carpenter gained immense fame and released two chart-topping singles on Billboard 200: “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” Her sixth album Short n’ Sweet became her first platinum record release later that same month.

Tall Girl 1 & 2

Tall Girl 1 & 2 is actually two films combined into one; with the first film following Jodi (Ava Michelle) as she attempts to overcome negative self-talk and insecurities. Directed by Nzingha Stewart and also featuring Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner and Sabrina Carpenter.

The second film picks up several months after the first and focuses on Jodi auditioning for her school production of Bye Bye Birdie. Although dating Dunkleman now, she must still battle her negative inner voice and insecurities. Luckily, however, the film manages to hold together thanks to strong acting from its cast and an engaging story; and it features some delightful teen characters!

Work It

Sabrina’s father built her a purple recording studio in their basement, so it came as no surprise when she began uploading songs to YouTube at only 10 years old. Soon thereafter, Sabrina amassed an army of fans – which led to an acting career which flourished simultaneously.

Work It is an authentic teen dance flick with its unforgettable dance training montage straight out of “Footloose,” as well as its memorable schoolyard dance-off, which wouldn’t look out of place in High School Musical.

Short n’ Sweet was released earlier this year and reached #1 on US Billboard charts with singles such as “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”. Additionally, Barry Keoghan made guest appearances.

Emergency

Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey charmed an audience of millions as she delighted them with one hit after another and garnered multiple gold certifications for her songs. Her shows sold out worldwide and she served as direct support on Taylor Swift’s Eraser Tour.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she performed her latest single “Espresso.” Accompanied by a band that gave the track an uptempo jazz soundscape, it provided the ideal showcase for her latest single.

She is in a relationship with Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan and can often be seen together at award show after-parties in 2023, appearing together in Work It and becoming Time’s Emerging Leaders of 2024. Additionally, the busy actress will soon embark on both a tour and movie project.
