The Eagles – A Rockumentary

After two and a half seasons of dominance, Philadelphia’s Eagles experienced one of the worst home-stretch collapses ever witnessed in NFL history – one with lasting consequences that may persist for years to come.

The Eagles have won millions of fans around the world. They’ve earned themselves induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and are considered legendary. But critics seem determined to disapprove. Why?

Origins

The Eagles were one of the most successful bands of the 70s, scoring six number-one albums and this rockumentary explores their story – from formation through their eventual breakup and reunion in 1994.

David Geffen’s Asylum Records gave the band their major label deal and British producer Glyn Johns produced their debut album; which yielded two top 20 hits including ‘Take It Easy’ which helped soften country rock’s harsh edges and propel the band’s success.

After Leadon abruptly exited, famously pouring beer over Glenn Frey’s head upon leaving, The Eagles hired Joe Walsh as his replacement. Walsh, having previously been part of The James Gang before joining The Eagles, provided harder rock credentials and added harder edges to their sound. Henley and Frey desired for On the Border’s style to shift away from its country origins and move towards hard rock; Frey brought in friend Don Felder on slide guitar as session musician for this album project.

Early Years

From their self-titled 1971 debut through to 1975’s Hotel California release, The Eagles created an extensive catalog of hit studio albums which dominated the charts. Originally formed as Linda Ronstadt’s backing band, Don Henley and Glenn Frey assembled this influential ensemble.

After releasing several hit singles such as “Take it Easy”, “Witchy Woman”, and “Desperado”, the band recorded their debut album ‘Eagles” at London Olympic Studios under producer Glyn Johns – it proved to be an enormous success and propelled them into stardom.

Don Felder was instrumental in The Eagles moving away from country and bluegrass influences, producing an unrivalled combination of laid-back grooves and Hollywood studio calculation that distinguished their work between 1974 and 1979 – most noticeably evident on songs like ‘One of These Nights’, Hotel California, and The Long Run. Following their departure in 1975, Henley and Frey each achieved huge solo success while Felder went on to record with Steely Dan albums like Pretzel Logic and The Royal Scam.

Hotel California

With its powerful melodies and precise instrumental work, this Eagles classic stands as one of their signature tracks. It embodies their distinctive sound while telling an incredible tale.

“Lyin’ Eyes” belies an insightful understanding of a girl who cheats on her rich old man and marries country directness with Hollywood studio calculation. The Eagles excelled at merging this genre seamlessly.

Joe Walsh joined the Eagles prior to recording Hotel California, providing technical expertise combined with his signature rambunctiousness. A Wichita native himself, Joe first found success as a solo guitarist before becoming part of the James Gang and Poco, who helped pioneer modern Americana music. Today he remains an integral member of their lineup.

The Long Run

After years of honing their vocal harmonies and country-rock grooves, The Eagles achieved unprecedented success with 1976’s Hotel California album. Unfortunately, their 1979 follow up The Long Run proved much harder.

Critics dismissed The Long Run as a major disappointment when compared to its predecessor; however, commercially it proved immensely successful with three Top 10 singles making up part of its sales success. Unfortunately, however, their struggles to maintain such early success would lead to their dissolution as a band.

At the time of recording their final concert album, tensions between Glenn Frey and Don Felder had reached their pinnacle, leading Felder to leave shortly after its conclusion; these concerts would later be released as part of Selected Works: 1972-1999 box set released later that year and were the last concerts performed as an entire Eagles unit prior to Felder leaving; after his departure was confirmed in 1995 by their 1995 reunion album being named Hell Freezes Over, which perfectly captured their disintegrating state at that point in time.

Monster Jam is 100 Percent for the Kids

Monster Jam brings world-renowned drivers and 12,000-pound trucks from arenas and stadiums across the nation for exciting racing and freestyle competitions.

Each event includes a timed race, two-wheel skills challenge, donut competition and freestyle event; audiences decide the winners by scoring using mobile devices.

The History of Monster Jam

Monster Jam has since grown into an annual spectacle seen by millions worldwide, but it didn’t start this way. Monster Jam originated during the lifted truck craze of the 1970s when owners modified factory four-wheel-drive pickup trucks by raising them up on lifts and installing massive 48″ farm tires to mud bogging and tractor pulling competitions.

Freestyle competition provides drivers with 2 minutes to show their strength and dexterity by performing gravity-defying stunts that show off both physical and mental prowess. Fans love this controlled chaos that allows fiberglass bodies to fall, axles to break, and sometimes cars even catch fire!

Monster Jam fans were also once able to witness Monster Jam drivers compete in a points series; this feature was discontinued in 1999 before later making a comeback (though not currently part of any USHRA tour). Each Monster Jam event still hosts its own official World Finals championship event.

The Trucks

Monster Jam events and their trucks may look staged, but monster truck racing actually dates back to when lifted pickup owners would jack up factory four-wheel-drive trucks and fill them with giant tires – before Monster Jam even existed!

At each event, trucks compete in three separate events: head-to-head racing, freestyle and skills challenge – each winner receiving their own trophy for their victory.

Freestyle competition is judged annually, and drivers use their trucks to perform tricks for audiences and earn points. Each year the tour crowns a champion for freestyle–not necessarily Grave Digger or Bigfoot but other drivers like 2023 World Finals Champion Tristan England have their own rides that they use during freestyle performances.

Monster Jam’s success can be credited to its hundreds of employees who work together seamlessly to keep it running, from choreographing drivers’ entry into the hot pits (where 47 trucks are staged between rounds with two entering and leaving at all times) and maintaining trackside repairs to making sure fans enjoy themselves and remain engaged – its passionate fan culture fueling its rapid expansion.

The Arena

Monster Jam events feature an arena-style setup that gives fans a close-up view of the trucks and drivers competing. This format has played an instrumental role in Monster Jam’s incredible growth – now offering over 350 shows annually in 30 countries!

Last week, the traveling crew responsible for turning the Dome into a monster truck arena arrived to start its work. They blocked off a section of parking lot between Dineen Hall and Campus West before setting up five of the company’s nine monster truck haulers capable of accommodating two trucks each.

Track construction begins one week prior to fans filling the Dome for fans to watch the action. Excavations takes place from an open field on Syracuse University’s campus and dirt is brought directly into the arena via truckloads; quality monitoring of each load of dirt ensures optimal conditions.

The Audience

Children form a large portion of Monster Jam audiences – no coincidence there. Monster Jam caters solely to children, and that shows. With ATV obstacle races, two-wheel skills competitions, donuts and their signature freestyle monster truck show event all taking place within its pages, kids will love this show!

Trucks roar into life and roll across the arena floor as their fans cheer with enthusiasm. Some have come prepared with earplugs or headphones for hearing protection; most seem delighted to be witnessing such destructive machinery up close and personal.

Monster Jam stands out from other sports events by appealing to an inclusive audience. While camo clothing and American flags might dominate attendance at Monster Jam events, there are numerous female spectators present and pro drivers take upon themselves the responsibility of creating an inclusive environment – Tom Meents of El Toro Loco fame and an early candidate for Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), runs Monster University as training program that fosters new drivers.

Maroon 5 struggling to find acts to join them at Super Bowl Halftime show

Some might argue that politics and sports should be separate as church and state, but that’s a reality for the NFL.  The team ’s stance against a player’s right to protest during the National Anthem has been a thorn at their aspect, and yet one which ’s beginning to draw blood since the Super Bowl nears.

According to sources at Page Six, Maroon 5 is now having a hard time finding acts to combine them throughout their forthcoming Halftime show for Super Bowl LIII, that can be set to occur on Sunday, February 3rd at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The band has reached out to more than a functions to combine them to their functionality that was mid-game, only so much, no one ’s game to hit the field, pun intended. As one insider tells the publication, “Nobody wants to be connected with that. ” After all, it is ’t even be for a lack of talent, especially local gift, watching how Atlanta is a mecca for music.

1 such outlet is label and management company Quality Control, who confessed rsquo they &;ve been talking with representatives but declined to discuss. It needs to be noted their top clientele, namely Migos, Lil Yachty, along with Lil Baby, are going to be in the town for the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest on January 31st, that will also contain local personalities Ludacris along with Lil Jon.

Superbowl Tickets are offered at buytickets.com to find the best seats.

Also in the town for shows leading to the Big Game include other blockbuster talents like Cardi B, Post Malone, along with former Super Bowl Halftime show veteran Bruno Mars.

A lot of the radio silence boils down to timing. Reportedly, Mary J. Blige had been approached but had to turn it down due to prior commitments. And there’s the above Cardi B, who featured on Maroon 5’s hit “Girls Like You”. She’s scheduled to look at the Grammy Awards a week afterwards on February 10th, although sources indicate she remains a addition.

André 3000 has also reportedly been approached, as have luminaries like Usher, Lauryn Hill, and Nicki Minaj, that ’s no stranger to the match (see: Madonna’s 2012 Halftime series ).

All this likely explains why Maroon 5 has not yet been officially declared. This ’s hoping for the ring ’s sake, that their call is answered by somebody and stops wasting turning out the lights. Alright, we’ll stop.
