Blink-182

After Drake’s album Views dominated the Billboard 200 chart for nine straight weeks, Blink 182 succeeded in taking the top spot with their new release, California. This is Blink 182’s first album since Neighborhood was released in 2011 and their first with their new guitarist, Matt Skiba.

California sold 186,000 copies in the first week. Of the 186,000 copies sold, 172,000 were actual album sales. This was the third-best-selling week for a rock album this year.

This is Blink 182’s second Number One release. They first topped the charts in 2001 with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.

Drake’s Views moved down to the Number Two spot with 117,000 copies sold. Most of those were for streaming equivalent albums. Drake’s nine-week run at the top of the charts was the third-longest for a hip hop album.

Blink 182 and Drake will be setting out soon for tours with dates across the United States and Canada. You can order tickets to see them perform songs from their new albums and older hits from buyTickets.com.
