Nas and Kehlani will be joining Grammy Award-winning hip hop artist Lauryn Hill on her MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! Tour. The tour will include dates across North America followed by a series of shows in Japan in October before returning to the United States.

The Diaspora Calling! Tour came about as a result of Hill’s Diaspora Calling! Music Festival that was held in Brooklyn in April. Opening acts will include Seun Anikulapo Kuti, Paul Beaubrun, and the Soul Rebels.

Lauryn Hill and Nas had a hit with their collaboration “If I Ruled the World,” which was featured on Nas’ second album, It was Written, in 1996. Nas will perform at shows in Seattle and San Francisco. Kehlani will perform at shows in New York, San Francisco, and Seattle.

According to Hill, the purpose of the tour is to promote togetherness and to celebrate the art and culture of the African diaspora. She believes it is especially fitting given racial tensions in many places that have been making the news recently.
