2024 saw the Outlaw Music Festival bring big names and big shows to cities all over the United States. While lineups can differ depending on where fans attend the concert, fans know they can always count on an extraordinary lineup of musicians providing them with an unforgettable concert experience that cannot be missed!
Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center served as an ideal starting point of this tour, located at the border between Ohio and Kentucky. This unique setting provided a fitting setting for this concert’s varied lineup that combined genres, generations, geographies and geological features. Waylon Payne kicked things off with a solo acoustic set featuring his distinctive style as a child of two country music artists while Avett Brothers provided an entertaining set featuring rock elements infused with bluegrass influences (such as their version of “Vanity”).
After seeing Willie Nelson & Family perform their opening acts, the crowd moved towards the main stage to witness Willie Nelson & Family take the stage for their inaugural performance of this tour. This iconic American musician is known for their classic songs as well as energetic performances that bring audiences together.
Following the first set, Nelson’s daughter Lurleen joined his band onstage for a duet that showcased her unique voice and ability to convey emotion through singing. Lurleen sang one of his most beloved tracks from “The Promise of a Rose Garden”, “Pretty Woman”.
Nelson launched into an expressive solo that concluded with the cheeky line, “It can be challenging being humble when you are as successful as me.
After their set at the 2023 Outlaw Music Festival tour’s encore performance, The Avett Brothers returned out for one last set of hits before closing it out with their cover of Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Right Now.” Their show served as a fitting way to mark Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday celebrations during this tour.
The Outlaw Music Festival is an annual touring music event that brings the best in outlaw country and Americana genres to various cities throughout the year. This year’s tour featured an incredible roster of legendary musical artists.
Willie Nelson & Family, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp were joined onstage by Trampled by Turtles, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Flatland Cavalry, Brittney Spencer and Particle Kid; as well as Avett Brothers.
