Officials from Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced Thursday an exciting event: Billy Joel and Rod Stewart will perform at Cleveland Browns Stadium on September 13th! These legendary artists have already performed in our region – Joel at Progressive Field last year and Stewart playing Blossom last summer – so the news conference held by Mayor Justin Bibb, partner Whitney Haslam Johnson of Haslam Sports Group, Destination Cleveland CEO David Gilbert and Live Nation Senior Vice President Marketing and Sponsorship Sales Barry Gabel provided more details of this concert event.
This will mark the first time these legendary artists will perform together, beginning with a Citi presale on Monday, January 29 and going on sale to the general public starting Friday, Feb 2. Tickets go on sale to everyone starting Saturday, Feb 2 at 12 noon.
Joel will co-headline shows with Stevie Nicks and Sting throughout 2018, as well as co-headlining at Ohio Stadium with former Police frontman Bon Jovi – marking their inaugural Rock and Roll Hall of Fame collaboration!
Joel is also an accomplished painter, with multiple paintings displayed across galleries worldwide and four books published, including his autobiography ‘Piano Man: My Life in Music.’ Additionally, Joel has been married three times and has a daughter named Alexa from his first marriage with Elizabeth Weber Small; their waitress character in “She’s Got a Way” was inspired by her. They divorced in 1982 before marrying model Christie Brinkley who gave him daughter Della Rose before divorcing him again in 1994; eventually Joel married chef Katie Lee whom gave birth to Michael just months before splitting again, then later divorced by Joel in 2019.
He has lived in Montauk, New York for more than 20 years and currently rents his home out through Airbnb.
