Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an iconic outdoor music venue that attracts top artists from around the globe. Set between Ship Rock and Creation Rock in Colorado’s Red Rocks National Conservation Area, its natural setting makes this spectacular performance space truly remarkable. Many musicians choose Red Rocks’ incredible acoustics when recording live albums here – providing stunning views from any seat at this venue with upwards of 9000 seating capacity!

John Brisben Walker first had the idea of using natural amphitheaters as musical venues back in the early 1900s, staging concerts on temporary stages. Later that same year, however, members of the Civilian Conservation Corps under the guidance of Denver architect Burnham Hoyt began construction of an outdoor concert theater which officially opened for performances in 1941 and remains an unparalleled Colorado destination.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is an unparalleled hiking destination, featuring stunning vistas and distinctive geological formations. Visitors can explore soaring boulders or hike through winding trails throughout the park; guided nature or yoga classes may even be offered here. Furthermore, Red Rocks has been recognized as an archaeological site, where fossil fragments from 40-foot sea serpents, marine reptiles, and flying reptiles have been found there.

If you can’t make it to a show, the venue offers tours. Be sure to visit its visitor center; it features displays dedicated to all of the amazing acts who have graced its stage over its history.

Red Rocks amplifies its natural setting with an extra boost of energy and camaraderie from tailgating before shows. Visitors can find food trucks near the theater to dine before the show starts or head straight to their concession stand for snacks like charcuterie boards to-go or burgers & fries from there concession stand.

Red Rocks offers visitors an unforgettable show experience through ticketed performances; but even without plans in mind it’s worthwhile stopping by to experience its breathtaking scenery and awe-inspiring acoustics. Additionally, visit their gift shop, performer hall of fame or join a guided hike!

If a concert is on your calendar for this year, there is plenty to choose from! Rap legends Ice Cube and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will bring their legendary presence while Trevor Noah and Mavis Staples promise plenty of laughs with their comedy performances.
