Sixteen-time Grammy Award Winner David Foster and Broadway Star Katharine McPhee join forces for an intimate evening of classic hits from Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Josh Groban and Michael Buble.

Foster began studying piano at four years old after accidentally striking a key and realizing he possessed perfect pitch.

Foster earned many notable production and writing credits during his 30-year production/writing career in the 1990s, such as Celine Dion’s hit songs “Unforgettable” and “Music of My Heart”, the Broadway cast albums for Dreamgirls and The Bodyguard, Rod Stewart hits, Brandy songs, Boz Scaggs hits and others from Rod Stewart to Boz Scaggs among many more. Foster completed this decade by receiving his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame near those of musical icons The Beatles.

Foster is a well-known figure amongst international musicians for his signature performance style and infectious joie de vivre, drawing audiences worldwide with his amazing concerts across continents except Antarctica. A pioneer in classical music recordings as well, Foster has even made waves as judge on Asia’s hit talent show World’s Got Talent judging panel. As a composer, Foster’s songs have been recorded by such notable singers as Chaka Khan, Madonna and Barbra Streisand. As an award winner he has won 16 Grammys, 1 Emmy Award and 1 Golden Globe with 3 Oscar nominations to his credit.

Producer and songwriter Paul Rea is well known for recognizing talent. He has played an essential part in shaping the careers of such performers as Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Katherine McPhee – as well as being known as an outstanding philanthropist.

Foster first achieved great success as part of Skylark, which had a Top 10 US hit in 1973. Later, he found success with Boz Scaggs band as well.

Foster produced and/or wrote several No.1 singles during the ’80s, including Chicago’s “Hard Habit to Break” and “You’re the Inspiration”, Peter Cetera’s “The Glory of Love”, and John Parr’s “Man in Motion” from St Elmo’s Fire soundtrack – helping establish his heavy, heavily produced middle-of-the-road adult contemporary sound.

Record Producer

As a producer, Foster has overseen albums that have sold in the hundreds of millions. As an “artist scout”, he played a crucial part in shaping careers of such artists as Celine Dion, Andre Bocelli, Josh Groban and Michael Buble.

In the ’80s, he produced an outstanding series of No. l singles for Chicago, Peter Cetera, Kenny Rogers and John Parr. Additionally, he contributed soundtracks for films like St Elmo’s Fire, Footloose and Ghostbusters.

Self-described Beatles fan David Foster was honored with induction into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, receiving his own star on Hollywood Walk of Fame near those of his musical heroes in 2013. Additionally, David devotes much of his time and talents to charitable work; meeting a girl from his hometown who needed life-saving liver transplant inspired him to found The David Foster Foundation; in addition, volunteering his services at over 400 charity events has kept his charitable commitment strong.

Music Executive

Grammy and Juno Award nominee, Foster has won 43 nominations and created hit songs and albums that have sold hundreds of millions. He has worked with artists from all walks of life such as Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Natalie Cole while also helping singers who straddle both pop and classical genres such as Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban achieve global fame.

His production skills were on full display when he produced and wrote the soundtrack for the popular Broadway musical Dreamgirls in 1982, earning him a Grammy Award for Best Rhythm and Blues Song. In addition, he scored the movie St. Elmo’s Fire with instrumental pieces “Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire” by John Parr and “St Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)”.

Foster rose to prominence during the 1990’s, producing hits by N’Sync (‘Sex with Strangers”) and Gloria Estefan (‘Music of My Heart”) which earned him a Grammy nomination as Producer of the Year. At this same time, his interest in classical music flourished and WEA distributed 143 Records was established – soon signing crooner Michael Buble as well as American Idol contestant Katherine McPhee to its roster.
