Why Lost Lands 2018 Is Not To Be Missed

Bass music fans — the second yearly Lost Lands Festival is significantly much less than 30 days off! This past year, Lost Lands debuted for the first time and immediately became a fan favorite holiday season. One of the chief reasons it had been such a success is because Jeff Abel, better called Excision, along with his staff put a lot of effort to the making of it.

On account of the success of Lost Lands 2017, Excision started to program for 2018 as soon as the 2017 festival had finished. He and his team have worked to ensure fans have a much better experience this year. In his Headbanger Facebook band page that he asked for questions, queries and much more to make Lost Lands 2018 as good as you can. Everything from the lineup to choosing food vendors, Excision paid focus on all fan feedback and has been tremendously involved in every detail.

Lost Lands 2018 will have two full size main stages this season plus 1,000,000 watts of bass brought to you by PK Sound gear. That is A LOT of bass, don’t forget to bring your earplugs! This past year, volcanoes about the stage taken fire in addition to heaps of lasers, pyrotechnics, and even giant dinosaurs produced an appearance. This past season, you can definitely expect production and also three times more dinosaurs.

After the festival is finished there will be Sound Camps which are going to be heading off during the evening. There are just six distinctively themed Sound Camps, special guest appearances, and surprise collections by Lost Lands artists. The Sound Camp includes a dedicated campground region at which you’ll be transported to a new world. Each stage at the Sound Camps will incorporate its very own unique theme design.

Other new changes this season include, expanded car camping areas — 50 sq ft. bigger, ancient entry pre-party inside festival grounds together with surprise b2b places Thursday night, silent camping, themed Sound Camps, along with also the 1,000,000 watts of bass. All of this was made possible because of the fan feedback that has been taken into account.

Lastly, I don’t have to say how stacked this years lineup is with numerous performances by Excision all weekend and other bass artists comprise Flux Pavilion, Illenium, Nero, Rezz, plus much more.

This past year, I saw that the festivities throughout the livestream at Couch Lands, where I saw and headbanged all weekend from my couch at home. This season I am excited to visit Lost Lands and experience it. Are you going? Allow me to know!

Still thinking about it? Act fast, GA tickets along with camping is 75% sold out. You’re able to get the rest of the tickets HERE.

See you Headbangers!

RÜFÜS DU SOL ‘UNDERWATER’ SECOND SINGLE OFF FORTHCOMING ALBUM

‘SOLACE’ LP TO BE RELEASED FALL 2018 ON REPRISE RECORDS

The boys are back and I could not be happier. Globally renowned live-electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL release their second offering ‘Underwater’ by forthcoming album ‘SOLACE’.  ‘Underwater’ is still just another glimpse in the ring ’s continuing development, following the band’s introduction track ‘Zero Place. ” SOLACE,’ outside this fall, claims to elevate RÜFÜS DU SOL’s emotive and captivating sonic storytelling to a different degree.

Together with “underwater’, were hauled back to the desolate beaches of their own mind. Tyrone Lindqvist delivers his euphoric vocals alongside Jon George and James Hunt. Layered with all the catchy history hook, and the trio has joined their indie house signature beats with a new tribal elegance that puts the group at a sonic kingdom in their own. It is vibey to the max.

The lyrics are emotional, but it’s difficult not to smile and groove when you have this beat!

Me right now:

‘Underwater’ arrives in the middle of constant noise enclosing the juggernaut of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s travel program. The ring moves towards three-star displays at the Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall and New York’s Terminal 5, coming sell-outs in London’s O2 Forum and Manchester’s Club Academy, and a standout Halloween operation at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center stadium. Additional fall dates Incorporate sold-out displays in Emo’therefore Austin, TX, The Van Buren in Phoenix, Denver’s The Fillmore, plus a festival set in Voodoo Music & Arts Experience.

RÜFÜS DU SOL has spent the past season at Venice, CA, recording and writing the new record, which is largely affected by the dichotomy of this mythical desert landscapes and gorgeous coastline of California. It, therefore, a more comprehensive investigation of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s ever-evolving musical spectrum, a deeper dip, and a more intimate glimpse into both melancholy and transcendence.

Illenium Shares His Struggles Through Letter to the Fam and Latest Single, “Take You Down”

Illenium ‘Take You Down’

It can happen to anyone. Gender, race, social class.

America from coast to coast has been plagued by the opioid crisis. In 2016 alone, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention( CDC) determined more than 64,000 people died from drug overdoses. Many of us, including myself, have seen friends tragically pass away and families forever changed. It has become a national emergency for all of us to be aware of.

In a note to the fam, superstar DJ Illenium revealed his own personal battles with addiction.

Illenium, who’s real name is Nicholas Miller, conveyed his long battle with opiate addiction that eventually caused him to overdose on Heroin. In the message, the 27 -year old describes dark times in his life for him and his family as he toiled with the disease. The hope that so many go across seemed all but lost.

Miller credits music and his mother for saving his life, both of which have helped him stay clean to this very day. Further, the heartfelt message is the inspiration behind his song” Take You Down “. Read his letter to the fam below.

“Take You Down” originally debuted at the Global Dance Festival in Denver in July.

It’s official release, which coincided with Illenium’s personal story, occurred on August 3rd. The song’s melody is powerful, with an uplifting tone seemingly designed for anyone going through a similar crisis. In addition, the high pitch vocals actually come from Illenium’s friend Tim James. For anyone going through the struggle, the track should come as a reminder that love, hope, and help always exists. It is never too late to change your life around, as Illenium once did.

The music industry made $43 billion in 2017, but artists only took away 12% of it

The music industry made $43 billion in 2017, but artists only took away 12% of itDJ SNAKE Photo By Eva Blue 07

Musicians’ struggles in today’s industry are well-documented. Royalties have plummeted as a result of downloading or streaming, with extended touring taking place of beatmaking as the prime kind of income. On top of all this, the teams behind these artists also have to make a living, cutting profits further.

It comes as no surprise, then, that Citigroup’s latest report on the music industry economy asserts that musicians only took home 12% of the $43 billion in revenue generated industry-wide in 2017. The cycle is a cruel one — creators often rely on publishers, tech companies, and other team members to help get their message out and allow them to make a living through their craft in the first place. However, the cost of this success is that these outside parties suck up greater amounts of income in return.

Citigroup didn’t paint an overly grim picture with its reporting. In fact, it posed potential paths of redistributing some of the revenues to the musicians that helped generate it in the first place. It foresaw two potential vertical integrating models, with one pointing to promoters and platforms like Spotify merging together. Or, Spotify and its ilk will cross into the label space as another form of vertical integration that would benefit artists. Finally, Citigroup also posed a horizontal model where different distribution platforms merge with one another.

Also, the fact that artists are taking a 12% stake in the industry is good news in itself — in 2000, that number was at 7 %. The report shows this to the increase of royalties via streaming subscriptions, and also growth within the concert business. Only time will tell how the industry evolves to tip the financial scales back in the artists’ favors.

Lance Bass (almost) bought the Brady Bunch house. Yes, the NSYNC guy.

UPDATE Aug. 5, 2018, 10:11 a.m. ET

It’s not happening, folks.

Although Lance Bass informed the world on Saturday that his offer to purchase the Brady Bunch house had been “accepted,” he followed up that announcement with a statement overnight making it clear that he had spoken too soon. The home isn’t his. In fact, he’s getting the feeling now that he might have been nothing more than a pawn in a bid to drive up the house’s value.

” The next day, due to’ unforeseen circumstances,’ the same agent informed us that there’s another Corporate Buyer( Hollywood studio) who are interested the house at any cost ,” he wrote.” We were prepared to go even higher but[ were] entirely discouraged by the marketers[ sic] agent,[ who said] they will outperform any bid with unlimited resources .” Read more …
