3ICE Hockey

3ICE Hockey is an exciting three-on-three league that travels to different cities over six weeks for its six-week season, featuring teams coached by former NHL players like Ray Bourque, Guy Carbonneau, Grant Fuhr and John LeClair.

Marty Brodeur was drawn to the league because of its unique rules – particularly no power plays during overtime – as well as its fast pace of play. He found much satisfaction from playing in this competition.

The League

3ICE has already revolutionized the NHL‘s 3-on-3 overtime format and its innovative rules could turn it into an Olympic event. Furthermore, this league uses half-ice rinks, eliminating power plays and speeding up play – drawing attention to players’ incredible stick handling, passing, shooting skills.

Johnston’s cornerstone drawcard is his roster of former NHL players serving as coaches on each bench, such as Hockey Hall-of-Famer Brian Mullen and ECHL stars Larry Murphy and Grant Fuhr.

Teams compete each week in a tournament-style schedule with games played in different cities each time, culminating in playoffs that end with one team hoisting the Patrick Cup as champion. Season runs June to August.

The Teams

As the NHL season comes to a close, an emerging league has begun their tour across America: 3ICE Hockey is an upstart 3-on-3 summer league featuring teams coached by former NHL players that uses an exciting weekly tournament format – taking games into cities all across America.

Each week, four out of the eight teams compete in a tournament-style competition. Instead of being tied to any particular city or location, teams are named after an NHL player leading them and thus create more identifiable brands for fans.

Team Mullen is led by former Montreal Canadiens star Joe Mullen; while Hall-of-Famer Grant Fuhr led his team all the way to its championship weekend of Las Vegas’ inaugural season.

The Schedule

Heart-racing, adrenaline-pumping 3ICE 3-on-3 hockey league offers fans nothing short of pure unadulterated excitement. Boasting six teams led by Hall-of-Famer coaches and former NHL players, 3ICE guarantees fans nothing but pure enjoyment and undiluted excitement!

Gameday in the 3ICE league features two eight-minute halves with an uninterrupted running clock that only stops for injuries or penalties, penalty shots instead of power plays, and let coaches select shooters (in future it might let fans choose them via the app).

After its debut season was so successful, 3ICE will return for more excitement and thrills this August 12 in Philadelphia at its Patrick Cup Championship event.

The TV Deals

Johnston understands the necessity of 3ICE’s long-term success and only partners with investors who share his long-term vision. For this reason, she only accepts investors that share his commitment.

Sports betting as an additional revenue stream for 3ICE will also be explored as an avenue. He believes its tournament format and strong offense make it attractive to betting partners.

However, 3ICE faces its greatest opportunity in the form of what may happen in the future. Should 3-on-3 hockey become part of Olympic competition in 2024, that would be an enormous boon for 3ICE and help it grow even further. Also important is the NHL‘s 2022 expansion plans into Quebec City and Vegas which should increase interest in 3-on-3 hockey even more.

The Final Words

3ICE kicked off its inaugural season this past weekend and presented the Patrick Cup, commonly referred to as “the Patty”. Teams Murphy, Johnston, and Bourque all earned spots in this year’s championship game.

E.J. Johnston, son of former Bruins goaltender Eddie Johnston, founded this league to offer fans a taste of three-on-three overtime in hockey nearly 10 years ago. Furthermore, it hopes to test a rule which prohibits players from crossing over back and forth along a center red line like in basketball which slows down play.

Joe Mullen, an NHL Hall-of-Famer who participated in this first season of 3ICE games and enjoyed 16 seasons playing, agrees that they’ve been fun to watch – he can’t wait until their tour stop in Las Vegas next June!

What Is Music?

Music provides an experience unique to humanity that connects people through sounding objects. This experience can take many forms – from rock concerts and orchestra performances, to soundtracks for movies and TV shows, soundtrack albums or soundtracks used as background sound tracks.

Composers frequently draw their inspiration for musical compositions from stories, poems and other forms of art – be they stories, poems or art forms. Composers may also name their piece after such sources of inspiration – for instance Monteverdi named L’Orfeo after Orpheus from Greek mythology.

It is an art

Music is an expressive art form with numerous expressions; from folk songs and dance tunes to electronic compositions. Music can take many forms; its core definition is defined as any combination of vocal or instrumental sounds organized tones according to culturally determined standards for rhythm, melody and harmony.

Music can also serve as a powerful medium to express feelings and share ideas, with its use able to elicit both emotions and promote ideas. Music‘s therapeutic benefits make it popularly used for relaxation therapy sessions as well as social events bringing people together.

Music can be created using different instruments and voices, either live or recorded, with the latter offering greater expressive possibilities such as vibrato, slides and timbre effects. Music also expresses emotion through changes to its rhythmic structures as well as through rhythmic fluctuations; sometimes its meaning even conveyed with silence.

It is a form of communication

Music is an expressive form of communication that has the capacity to elicit profound emotions in both listener and performer alike. Music can support social activities, build cultural identity and even unlock autobiographical memories for patients living with dementia. Furthermore, concerts or internet-based performances offer people opportunities for connection.

Not only can music have pitch, rhythm and volume characteristics but it can also feature other elements like timbre (instrument or voice), texture and dynamics that convey emotion or character – even between individuals who don’t share a common language – such as deaf musicians like Evelyn Glennie.

Musical communication requires significant amounts of interpersonal coordination and cooperation between musicians, due to them needing to coordinate their breath, head, and arm movements in sync with keeping a beat – similar to how infants first learn social interactions from caregivers.

It is a way of expressing emotions

Music can have a powerful influence over human emotion. Even sounds that we might not typically consider music – such as washing machine noise or an explosion’s explosion – have been used creatively in creative works to convey meaning and convey feelings, making musical art an integral part of every culture worldwide.

Musical expression relies on manipulating pitch (inflections, vibrato, slides), volume (dynamics, accents and tremolo etc), rhythm, duration and timbre to convey expressive meaning. These elements come together to communicate emotional messages from love to hatefulness – not to mention improving children’s social skills by playing music together!

Studies have demonstrated that people who share musical performances together tend to develop greater empathy towards one another. This may be largely attributed to learning how to read each other’s expressions through sound; an effective means for building empathy and supporting emotional growth.

It is a way of expressing ideas

Music can help express our ideas in various ways, whether that means recalling happy memories or stirring feelings of affection for another. Furthermore, research shows that children who play music together tend to develop better social and emotional skills than those who don’t.

Music has long been used as a vehicle to bring about social and political change. It inspired and motivated civil rights marchers and helped bring attention to issues like police brutality and systematic racism.

Music‘s definition depends on context and culture; generally speaking it involves arrangements of sounds with relationship to pitch, rhythm and tone. Music may take various forms ranging from homophony (one melody with accompaniment) to polyphony (multiple melodies). Written music notations exists to document this activity.

Alpha Album Review – Queer R&B Singer-Songwriter Charlotte Day Wilson

Charlotte Day Wilson stands out in Toronto’s lively R&B scene as an artist with an innovative and progressive vision. After debuting with EP CDW and Stone Woman respectively in 2016, she’s poised to make waves worldwide with Alpha.

She takes advantage of vintage bass lines and gospel assonance to craft an innovative take on R&B and soul that showcases her superb vocal abilities.

1. Work

Charlotte Day Wilson of Toronto has an admirable habit of showing her emotions through her music. Her songs reflect her commitment to being an honest artist who seeks to empower and encourage others through her creativity.

“Work” begins with a melancholic melody that sets the mood for its introspective lyrics, exploring struggles of finding purpose in work and life – echoing with individuals questioning their goals, ambitions and daily efforts.

Wilson has experienced impressive growth since her debut EP CDW was released in 2016. Since then, her 2021 project Alpha has established her as an in-demand producer and multi-instrumentalist with collaborations including those with BBNG’s Tavares, Daniel Caesar, Merna Bishouty. Additionally, Wilson produces her own songs, placing her among a very small minority – multiple estimates place the figure between five percent of producers worldwide and five percent women producers – producing their own material herself; no surprise then that the debut single off Alpha is entitled “Work.”

2. Stone Woman

Charlotte Day Wilson, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, boasts an effortlessly smooth blend of jazz, R&B, soul, and classical influences that is already classic sounding. What sets Charlotte Day Wilson apart though, is her ability to capture life’s details through storytelling – how emotions connect us to those around us and vice versa.

Beginning with Ines – a woman consumed by grief over the loss of her mother – as the story opens she realizes that even as her body becomes solidified she becomes aware that stone contains pieces from things once living; shadow and light both exist within this process of transformation.

As you explore The Fen in Lords of the Fallen, you may come across a petrified stone woman asking for your assistance. Here’s our guide on how to help her and have her leave so that you can discover more of your quest together; once she does leave she will offer up insight about upcoming battles as well as reward you with a necklace accessory that reduces physical damage done against you.

3. In Your Eyes

On this ballad, strings, woodwinds, and piano create an atmosphere of melancholy and nostalgia. While Wilson’s voice holds it together well despite some loose production issues.

Wilson’s second EP is an atmospheric, immersive queer experience crafted to perfection by her meticulous production sensibility and propelled by her timeless vocal talent. Cyan Blue captures all shades of human experience, from melancholy to bitterness and regret through Wilson’s clear vision.

After her debut album Alpha made Billboard’s Top 10 R&B chart last year, Canadian-born CDW has solidified her position as an indie soul act to watch out for. Her timeless yet contemporary sounds come through her distinct lens; creating songs about doomed lovers lamenting lost relationships while sipping on cheap liquor from dimly-lit living rooms over bottomless bottles of cheap bourbon.

4. Take Care of You

Charlotte Day Wilson, a Toronto-based queer singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist-producer is known for her rich jazz and R&B influenced sound that already sounds classic. Boasting delicate yet powerful vocals that enthrall audiences alike, her work has already featured prominently on Apple commercials and top 10 lists in both Canada and the US while collaborations with artists like BADBADNOTGOOD, Benjamin Coyle-Larner and Kaytranada showcase her diversity and versatility.

Born and raised in Toronto, she studied classical piano as a child before teaching herself production with GarageBand as a teenager. As part of the funk band The Wayo before taking an internship with Arts & Crafts label which represents other Canadian artists like Feist and BadBadNotGood – where she released her debut album Alpha in July 2021.

Monster Jam – The Ultimate Experience

Monster Jam trucks compete in wheelie competitions, obstacle courses, donut competitions and freestyle events. Each truck has two minutes on an open floor (or one-and-a-half in arena shows) to showcase jumps, stunts and roaring engine noises to thrill and dazzle its audience.

Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 offers an engaging progression system, plenty of trucks to unlock and unique environments to explore – providing hours of enjoyment for everyone in the family!

Drivers

Underneath the colorful fiberglass exteriors of Monster Jam trucks lie real racecars. Most teams utilize tubular steel space chassis from Dan Patrick Enterprises or Carroll Racing Design as race cars for Monster Jam races.

Monster Jam events began offering freestyle exhibitions as early as 1993, pioneered by Dennis Anderson’s Grave Digger the Legend truck and providing drivers with another way back onto the event floor if they did not qualify for racing portion of show.

Drivers come from all walks of life and work hard to achieve their goals. Many have gone through Monster Jam University training program, which covers everything from basic operation to improving driver skills and public relations. Meanwhile, technicians ensure the 800 HP trucks remain in top shape.

Trucks

Monster Jam trucks are specially-built to protect drivers at all times during racing or freestyle competition. Each one contains a roll cage, ergonomic seat that conforms to its driver, and five-point harnessing system to keep him or her secure and in their spot.

Racing involves drivers competing against each other over an established course in trucks, and the first to cross the finish line is declared victorious. Each event may also involve qualifying rounds that establish brackets.

Take part in the action with this officially licensed Monster Jam 1:64 scale die-cast truck! Featuring BKT tires and stylized chrome rims with authentic chassis detailing in chrome plating for an authentic experience – complete with collectible driver figurine molded into its driver seat!

Arenas

Arenas have been designed to display massive trucks in an environment as vibrant and spectacular as their drivers themselves. Impress your audiences by performing mind-boggling tricks to amaze the audience: race up ramps, drive over cars that appear like toys next to your Monster Truck, perform loop-the-loops… More than 50 missions await your challenge and expression!

Bring the family along to the Prudential Center before the show for the Pit Party, an exclusive chance to see trucks up close and meet athletes! Also participate in several family activities including UNOH tire demonstration, coloring and temporary tattoo stations as well as more!

Monster Jam’s primary concern remains fan health and safety for their audience, drivers, and venues where they perform. All fans aged 2 or over must possess a ticket when attending one of its performances.

Tracks

Monster Jam events take place on elaborate structures constructed of dirt that have been carefully constructed to support ten-thousand-pound trucks and their drivers. Each track is tailor-made to fit into its respective venue‘s stadium or arena perfectly.

Monster Jam events feature competition in racing, two-wheel skills and freestyle events – each segment winner receives a championship title!

Monster Jam is a competitive series consisting of five points-paying tours that culminates in the World Finals event each May. Following that event, trucks that participated in each season tour continue making shows until summer and fall – approximately 120 events across stadiums and arenas between then. Though owned independently, each truck must meet USHRA performance and safety requirements to participate.

Safety

Monster Jam trucks produce noise levels reaching 120 decibels, which could potentially damage hearing over time. Hearing protection should always be worn when attending this event and can be purchased from concession stands within each arena.

Monster Jam drivers spend months or years training with specialists in order to operate their trucks and perform stunts safely, wearing fireproof driving suits and helmets for safety. In contrast with race car and motocross athletes, all Monster Jam drivers are female [source: Feld].

Drivers face many logistical challenges in addition to training. Arranging for 48 competitors every week to use appropriate trucks is no small feat; also, filling stadiums takes considerable soil, which must be stored between events so as to prevent damage to trucks.

Yoga Improves Physical, Mental and Emotional Health

Yoga improves physical, mental and emotional well-being by cultivating harmony within all six layers of self.

Strength for Increase, with yoga’s slow, controlled breathing stimulating the vagus nerve to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and promote relaxation resulting in lower heart rates, improved digestion and quality sleep.

Physical

Yoga is a physical practice combining postures, breathing exercises and meditation that has been shown to increase students’ muscular strength, flexibility and cardiorespiratory fitness. Yoga may also help those suffering from hypertension reduce blood pressure due to “baroreceptor sensitivity,” which allows the body to detect imbalances in blood pressure levels and restore equilibrium through balance.

Yoga has also been found to have a beneficial effect on cognitive functions such as memory and learning. This improvement may be the result of yoga’s emphasis on mental concentration and body movement control which leads to changes in brain structures and immune functions as a result. But for these practices to truly reap their rewards over time they must be practiced regularly over an extended period.

Studies on yoga demonstrate its ability to alleviate anxiety, PTSD, depression and insomnia by managing unmanaged stress which is believed to be one of the primary contributors. Yoga practice offers a natural, noninvasive and readily available means of maintaining wellness while treating mental health issues such as depression and anxiety without the use of pharmaceutical treatments alone; indeed more medical practitioners now recommend yoga alongside pharmaceutical therapies as mind-body connection may be essential to healing.

Mental

Yoga, as an activity combining physical movement with breathing techniques and meditation, can help soothe an overstimulated mind. Yoga also can teach us how to identify and dissociate from negative feelings more quickly – reducing mood swings as a result.

Studies have demonstrated that individuals who regularly practice yoga benefit from higher GABA neurotransmitter levels in the brain. Low levels of these chemicals have been linked with depression, anxiety, fatigue and insomnia – so practicing yoga increases its release thereby helping you feel more relaxed and secure.

Be mindful that any supplement taken can also aid with falling and staying asleep more easily; studies have proven this effect by stimulating melatonin secretion which regulates sleep/wakefulness balance – this makes acupuncture particularly helpful for anyone suffering with sleep issues, including those living with lymphoma.

Yoga may help ease symptoms of schizophrenia, an acute mental disorder. One study revealed that adding yoga as an adjunct therapy to antipsychotic medication led to reduced psychopathology and an increase in socio-occupational functioning.

Young adult college students often feel overwhelmed by the demands and social changes of daily life. A recent study discovered that yoga improved social adjustment of students, helping them adapt better to their environment and cope with any potential stressors more easily – an especially noteworthy finding given the high rates of mental illness among university students.

Emotional

Yoga stands apart from other exercises by being an integrated practice that involves body, mind and emotional health. Studies have demonstrated its many health benefits including strengthening social connections, decreasing stress and anxiety levels and relieving depression/insomnia symptoms. Furthermore, yoga helps people cope with chronic pain conditions more easily.

Yoga offers numerous psychological advantages that derive from its philosophy. Yogis hold that an imbalance between body, mind and spirit can cause disease or unhappiness; therefore the ultimate aim of yoga is to still the mind and rest in pure awareness, an experience known as samadhi – or as some scholars define it, union (moksha) with divine or self.

Yoga’s meditative nature helps promote inner wellbeing, leading to positive emotions such as gratitude and compassion, while simultaneously encouraging healthy lifestyle choices such as balanced nutrition and physical activity. Yoga may also reduce stress by decreasing cortisol production; furthermore it has been used successfully as part of psychotherapy treatments for active-duty military members and veterans who suffer PTSD symptoms.

Yoga practice often occurs in group settings, with participants acting synchronistically to support each other and create an atmosphere of community and belonging. According to research published in January’s Psychological Science journal, participants who engaged together during yoga displayed significantly greater cooperative behavior compared with those who didn’t take part.

Spiritual

Spiritual yoga goes beyond physical fitness: it’s about tapping into something greater. Through spiritual yoga, you’ll discover new perspectives of what’s around you; seeing everything around as miracles anew while becoming more aware of both emotions and intuition.

Yoga is an ancient practice with numerous health and mental wellbeing advantages, particularly building physical strength and flexibility, improving respiration and circulation, relieving stress, anxiety, depression, pain/suffering/insomnia/other psychological issues as well as helping find peace in daily life. Yoga also serves a spiritual function by offering peace and happiness within daily lives.

Though research on spirituality in yoga is limited, what studies do exist show that its practice may lead to positive experiences of transcendent meaning and inner awareness in practitioners. Intervention studies using randomized control design would further examine these mechanisms and the spirituality generated by practicing yoga may vary greatly between individuals; measurement tools cannot capture it completely so any future research needs to take into account individual yoga traditions and styles of practice when exploring spirituality in this context.

Trucks Need Roads to Meet the Logistical Needs of the Modern Economy

Trucks rely heavily on roads as their base of operations to transport goods throughout Europe – 77% of it by road freight transport alone!

New offerings challenge the definition of what constitutes a truck, questioning whether utility is the sole hallmark of truckiness.

The History of Trucks

Trucks have long been an integral part of American history and culture. Since their introduction into industrialized transport systems, trucks have been serving to transport goods across many distances.

As soon as World War I ended, trucking companies started emerging to transport goods over longer distances. New roads allowed this trend, leading to the development of semi-trucks able to carry heavier loads. This marked the dawn of trucking as we know it today.

By the 1920s and 1930s, trucking had reached its zenith in America. Thanks to automobiles, increased goods demand, improved roads, and trucking regulations such as Interstate Commerce Commission oversight of freight transport, this industry saw unprecedented growth.

The American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) was founded in 1971 to perpetuate the legacy of trucking industry. We are the world’s premier repository of trucking history, housing technical manuals, books, contemporary journals, photographs and folk art from this industry. Additionally, we host educational and entertaining webinars for our members about manufacturing history or troubleshooting air systems – something for everyone!

The Development of Pickup Trucks

The Pickup Truck Market is expanding due to an increasing need for multi-purpose vehicles with cargo space. Last-mile delivery services have also caused demand for utility trucks in both developed and developing countries to surge. Furthermore, advancements in technology combined with online shopping has catapulted pickup truck sales exponentially.

Therefore, manufacturers are placing more importance than ever on exterior design and technology for pickup trucks, responding to consumer’s growing desire for stylish modern vehicles that meet lifestyle needs. Furthermore, more powerful engines have contributed to an increase in pickup sales.

Today’s supersized pickups can do almost everything a car can do, only better due to their power, precision and style. Unfortunately, their growing popularity raises serious safety concerns among pedestrians and other drivers on the road; their large size may obscure pedestrians from view in blind spots while their weight could cause devastating injuries should one be hit by one.

Although there are various methods for dealing with these issues, it’s essential that automotive engineers acknowledge the forces responsible for driving pickup truck mania. If automotive engineers want to keep their customers satisfied, they will have to address societal factors which push pickup trucks into dangerous territory.

The Development of Forward-Control Trucks

Volvo decided to expand forward-control truck production after experiencing success with their light-duty L42/L43 F trucks, yet one major obstacle stood in their way: they needed something capable of withstanding the demands associated with heavy-duty chassis vehicles.

Over time, however, they would finally achieve success: in 1962 saw the introduction of their first cab-over engine (COE) truck; its cab was mounted above the front axle unlike traditional trucks where engine was located directly in front of driver seat. It quickly proved popular.

The COE trucks were equipped with a unique cab-over design which enabled them to carry significantly greater loads than regular pickups, as well as wider tracks and four-wheel traction for improved maneuverability and four-wheel traction maneuverability. Marketed as work vehicles for fire departments, public works agencies and forestry operations. An FC variant known as the 101 Gun Tractor attempted to appeal to military buyers but didn’t work out.

The Jeep Forward Control was an unusual vehicle designed by Willys, featuring power outlets, perimeter lighting and an overhead third brake light which doubled as a third brake light. Additionally, its bed could be equipped with a bed divider to secure and separate cargo in the back of the truck. While production ended in 1965 due to licensing agreements with manufacturers in India and Spain; today the Forward Control lives on through long-term licensing arrangements between manufacturers of India and Spain.

The Development of Flat-Nosed Trucks

Flat-fronted trucks were once widely popular across America, yet today you rarely see one due to legislation concerning overall vehicle length restrictions.

European trucks often find themselves restricted by these regulations, having to abide by shorter distance and size requirements on roads and highways, thus prioritizing maneuverability over comfort.

European cities often favour COE (cab over engine) trucks for city driving; these models provide comfort-minded long hauling truckers a more relaxing cabin.

Conventional nose trucks feature longer wheelbases that make them better suited to high-speed highway driving, with their larger spacing between axles absorbing bumps more effectively and improving straight-line stability. Furthermore, their driver cab is further from their engine which reduces noise pollution and vibration levels significantly.

Conventional nose trucks provide another great advantage over COE designs in that they can easily be converted into living spaces with beds, kitchens and fridges – something not possible with COE designs as the cab sits directly over the engine.

The main disadvantage is the cab over engine design of these trucks requires you to tilt forward in order to access their engines – something which may take up to 30 minutes and means all items within the cab need to be secured or removed before beginning work.
